FDMC Summer Solo 2012, Page 2

Stuart Harrison of Dolphin MC, in the GBS Zero kitcar which he and his father Ian have built, put in a great drive to finish second overall, also winning Class F for low volume sports and kit cars. The 1.4 Peugeot 206 had a busy day, being driven with 'maximum commmitment', both by Brett Daniels and its owner, Paul Sheehan. Steve Woodings was having a first outing with his latest MX5, one of the rare Anniversary models, and Matt Wheatley took first place in Class C, with his 1.5 Toyota Yaris.

Among some more of the regular FDMC competitors, Shaun Finch and his Mitsubishi Evo took second in Class D; Peter West was competing in Class F with his self-built Formula 27, which features a supercharged Lancia engine; and Sean Pearce finished fourth in Class D, in his Mazda RX7.

Piotr Kozimor, who has previously competed in a Golf and a 106 Rallye, was using his newly acquired MX5 to take the third place award in Class E; Maciej Knapinski and his Fiat Seicento took the second place award in Class B; and Michael Weeks finished third Class F, with his self built, 1.6 K series engined Midget.

And afterwards .... 'The Clear Up Squad', packing the equipment back into the trailer. Pulling this load, the Skoda would definitely not win any speed awards.

For more information about these events, see AutoSolo's, and our 2012 season will continue with the September Solo, on Sept 9th.
