It's a pretty safe bet that this was the first - ever Solo entry in a Suzuki Ignis Sport, which was driven by new FDMC member Jon Hunt, and the same applies to the Diahatsu YRV, which had Tim Cartledge at the wheel, while he finishes building something more suitable!
Among the sports cars, Tom Caldecourt was sharing the red Westfield with father Alan, in Class F. In Class E, where a battle of the MX5's is guaranteed at every event, Carl Streatfield and his black Mazda finished second, in between Steve Woodings and Simon Trickett, who were sharing Steve's white car. Paul Looby finished just behind this trio, taking fourth place in a class of 15, with his Honda S2000.
For FDMC, the Mini 50th couldn't just be a static display - we drive them, as well! Here's Peter Manning, showing what we mean on the afternoon course, in the 1400 cc car which he shares with his son, David.
Ah, and the mystery car? It's a Matra Simca Bagheera. If you were at our March Solo, you'll have seen Andy driving his other one ! For more information about these events, see AutoSolo's. Award winners First overall, on Index: Kevin Belcher, Subaru Impreza
