Stahlwille Tools Sprint Royale, Sep 2002, Page 2 |
|
Three members of the organising clubs were competing in this event for the first time. Julian Burch has recently retrieved this Sunbeam Lotus from Germany; Barry Sayers started sprinting the Golf earlier this year; and Piers Evershed's newly acquired Impreza Turbo was in a close contest with the similar cars of Matthew Preston, and John Upham (who eventually took the class).
Mixed fortunes: Russell Morgan's Midget transmission succumbed to the poke of its tuned 1.8 'K' series engine, but was fixed in time to drive home: Simon May's class - winning drive took the Pinto engined rally Escort to 5th overall.
