FDMC Spring Solo 2011, Page 2

FDMC's Solo Class A is for historic cars, using the widespread motorsport definition of cars registered before January 1980. Matt Wheatley took the second place award here, driving his 1979 Mini Clubman 1275 GT. In the same class, Martin Neal, already a regular competitor in MG Midgets, was giving his recently acquired 1972 Escort Mexico its first Solo outing.

Paul and Harry Rush from Dolphin MC were taking turns to drive the MG TF, and Christo Frylinck and Cedric Houghton-Brown were sharing this Golf GTi in Class D, to finish just 5 seconds apart. Also from Dolphin MC, the father and son team of Ian and Stuart Harrison were driving their MG ZR 160 in Class C, where Stuart took the third place award, also finishing sixth overall.

The Rover 200 was being driven by Radoslaw Kmak, and Geoff Rodd looks like a man enjoying himself with his Mazda MX5, while the colourful figures in the background are competitors, taking a turn at marshalling. In Class F, Paul Sheehan and Brett Daniels were sharing their Golf GTi, which you can also see in some of our sprint reports.

We finish with Keith Pettit's Sprite, heading for first place in Class A, and another, more sideways view of a well known Escort driver.

For more information about these events, see AutoSolo's, and our 2011 season will continue with the Summer Solo, on July 10th, at Barton Stacey.
