Matt's motorsport started in his native Australia, including a noteworthy three seasons of motorbike racing, in the 125 GP class. Matt and his wife Sherie subsequently relocated to the UK, in order to join FDMC (well, perhaps not),which also led to their acquiring one of the rare Peugeot 306 GTi-6 models.

Pedalling the 306, a busy 2007 saw Matt take numerous awards in sprints and Solo's, and at the end of the season, also win awards in several championships, within FDMC and beyond. For 2008, a Honda S2000 has joined the Carter fleet, so his further exploits are awaited with interest.
