Two rare cars, shown here, were entered by two of our newer members. The yellow, Imp engined Clan Crusader was driven by Chris Benoy, finishing the event despite some unplanned maintenance, while Andy Owler was driving his mid engined, 1978 Matra Simca Bagheera (count the front seats). Keith Pettit, driving his familiar green Mk 1 Sprite, took another good win in the 8-strong Historic class.
Four more new FDMC members, seen in action here, were Conor Looby with his Peugeot 106; Andrew Jones with his Golf GTi; Paul Brimelow, who finished 5th out of 12 entries in Class E for production sports cars, and James Smith with his Toyota MR2 Mk 1, which was also driven by David McDermid.
Class C saw the expected close contest of Dolphin MC's Harrison family, in their Rover 200Vi. With the K series on the limiter most of the time, the class win finally went by 3 seconds to Ian from Stuart, with Bristol MC's Ben Griffin close behnd in his blue 106 Rallye. FDMC Competition Secretary Pete Moorcroft was sharing the MX5..... and in the best tradition of borrowed cars, finished just one second ahead of Ian Hardy, the car's owner.
Our last picture shows some of Classes A and B lining up for one of the morning runs, in the unexpected sunshine.
