For our first sprint of the 2005 season, the 60-plus entry included 30 FDMC members, and this early morning picture shows a selection of cars (plus partly awake drivers) being scrutineered.
Four drivers, all in Westfields, eventually broke into the 53 second bracket, and Simon Besant emerged with Fastest Time of Day in this 4.6 V8 version, from Dick Hulbert, Ian Gaskell, and Ray Turner.
Among the class winners were Sara Church (Civic Type R), and Karl Stevens (Escort Mk 2 2000).
Rushmoor Arena's downhill start is visible here, as Terri Pearson (Nova) and Allan Brown (Mini Marcos) await their turn to go.
Among the rarer models entered; Nigel Patten's Renault R8 Gordini 1300, and Neil Burns's Fiat Strada Abarth 2 litre.
