David Walton

David's motor sporting history deserves a book! UK Road rallying in the 70's was followed by a move to the Middle East, where he was a founder member of the Qatar Car Club, and subsequently chairman of the Bahrain Motor Club. Here the calendar grew to 40 events per year, entire rally cars could disappear into sand dunes, and rallycrosses could be 2 miles per lap... David drove a Datsun 260Z in these events, and contested the Middle East Rally Challenge as a member of Team Zayani, the Gulf's factory backed Mitsubishi team.

Returning to the UK in the 80's, and joining FDMC, David combined duties as Comp Sec with co - driving in BTRDA championship stage events. He claims he's now hung up his helmet for good, but remains busy as an MSA Steward, and in the organisation of national level rallies. A fan of USA style motorsport, he'll die happy if Rockingham brings the Winston Cup to Europe.
