Championships

FDMC runs two established annual championships, plus our Solo Challenge, introduced in 2007. Some members drive specially prepared cars, others use standard models, but depending on skill and cunning, you can do well with either! Our regional motorsport association, the Association of Central Southern Motor Clubs (ACSMC) also runs championships, based on its member clubs' events, for most types of motor sport.

FDMC Chairman's Trophy Championship

Here, you can score points from any events of National 'B' status or above, provided you enter as FDMC, up to your 8 best results in the year. If you compete mostly at regional or national level, this is where your performances can count.

2007: The final positions
With 60 members eventually scoring points from 40 different events, first place for 2007 goes to Ian Gaskell on 78 points, after another successful season's hillclimbing with his Westfield, including six class wins. The second and third place awards go to Matt Carter, whose sprint results with his Peugeot 306 GTi-6 gave him 71 points, and Keith Hazell, who sprinted his way to 69 points with his Sylva Striker. The 'best of the rest' were led home by Roger Hamilton-Lane (43), Dave Dockree (39), and Ian Rogers and Rob Choules (both on 37).

Full current scores are here, Scores.xls, plus full details of the Rules.

FDMC Lloyd Roberts Championship

This is based on the events which the club itself organises, or co organises, through the year. Scores are from any combination of competing, marshalling, or organising - but must include at least two of these.

2006: Final positions
From 13 qualifying events, a healthy total of 130 members scored points, and the clear winner is Dave Penycate, whose 63 points include scores from organising, marshalling and competing; followed by Simon May (44), Carla Penycate (38), Paul Prescott and Carl Streatfield (both on 33), and George Wall (30).

Full final scores are here, Scores.xls, plus full details of the Rules.

The Solo Challenge is our club level AutoSolo championship, based on the three events in our calendar. The Solo Challenge page has the details, plus final results for our 2007 Challenge.
