Our 9th annual Autumn Antics was held on its usual site at Deepcut, with its organisation now led by Paul Prescott and Simon Trickett. A sunny day's motorsport saw a fierce contest for the overall lead, between two previous winners, Kevin Lower (Escort RS2000), and Roger Dudley (Mini). After multiple runs through 9 different tests, Kevin's power sliding skills brought the Ford home first overall, just a few seconds ahead of Roger.

Close behind, in third overall, came Russell Roberts with his Fiesta XR2i, who also took second place in the combined classes A and B, for the smaller front wheel drive cars. The familar green Mk1 2 litre Escort, shared by Andrew Dudley and his daughter Laura, who's driving here, took the first and second place awards in Class C, for rear wheel drive saloons.

Among FDMC members competing for the first time at Deepcut, Ian Hardy, seen here, was sharing his Maxda MX5 with Brian Stevens, while Sean Finch, who usually drives a Mitsubishi Evo, had borrowed this Micra from his wife! (we won't tell her, Sean). The Nova was being driven by regular contender Tony Meadows, whose car fleet also includes a 205GTi, used in Sprints.
