Montgomery Lines: Solo Central!

For this year's Summer Solo, the entries included more than 40 FDMC members - definitely a record - so we've expanded this report as well, starting on this first page with the top 10 finishers. In warm, dry conditions, the 'Caterham twins', Andrew Thompson and Barry McClure, were the early leaders, and held off the pack to the end, with Andrew staying in front to take the award for Fastest Time of Day (again), and Barry taking second overall.

Among the next group, Steve Woodings pedalled the Mazda MX5 into 3rd overall (possibly assisted by his new, aerodynamic haircut), after a split-second contest all day with Kevin Belcher in his Impreza. Next, in hot pursuit came David Garside with his 2 litre Nova, and Matt Wheatley in his Westfield.

Next, in 7th place overall, came Paul Prescott and his 1300 Mini, just ahead of MGCC member Richard Bailey with his Historic Midget, both also winning their classes; close behind, in 9th and 10th overall were David Manning, driving the family Mini, and CSMA member Mike Biss with his Astra, who both took second place awards in their classes .
