Umbrellas were in frequent use at this year's Sprint Royale, and we even got sunshine and rain at the same time! The changing conditions saw many drivers visit the grass at some stage, and made photography equally difficult, so special thanks to Ray Hunter for this selection of pictures. The Metro 6R4 was shared as usual by Dennis Jellett and George Channon, with Dennis snatching first overall position on the last run of the day.

Close behind were two Westfield drivers, Peter Hayter with his yellow, Vauxhall engined car, and Ian Gaskell, whose black Westie has Cosworth BDH power.
Showing just how quickly saloon cars can be made to go, Ian and Kevin Plummer finished 5th and 6th overall in their 2 litre Opel Corsa, and Martin Baker 7th overall with his very special Morris Minor.
Brian Stevens and his Mazda RX7 took first place in Class 10, with second in this large class going to Mark Skeats, sharing Karl Stevens' Escort, and third place to Andrew Smith and his Elan coupe, having their first visit to Eelmoor.

FDMC's Chief Marshal Dave Penycate changed hats for the day, to compete in his first-ever sprint with this Golf GTi.
