The Sprint Royale returned to Eelmoor for the fourth year, and another day of fine weather, and pedal to the metal competition among 62 entrants. Fastest Time of Day came from Alan Wood, seen below, whose best time of 51.39 is probably a course record.

The other competitors on this page are mostly first-timers at Eelmoor. Graham Skeggs drove this XR2, bought from a neighbour for £50 (it did need some TLC), while Dan Roberts was a class winner with the AX, in his first ever Sprint.

Andrew Butcher's Mini was newly built for this event, and Emma Thompson was another driver competing in her first Sprint, with the Astra.

James Lumley was testing his 205GTi, which is being readied for rallying, and Terri Pearson, this time driving her VW Lupo, won the Ladies award again.

Matthew Gerrard gave his newly built, 'period replica' 1500 Anglia its first outing, and Ray McClatchie took the award for best Hart MC member, sharing this Westfield with David Buttle.
