In the first of our 2006 Solo events, 42 competitors took part, and dry conditions saw the sports cars setting the pace. After a close battle, Andrew Thompson, in his 1600 Caterham, took the Best Individual award; while the club team award, for the three drivers from each club with the lowest total time, went to FDMC.
Second overall was previous winner Warren Till in his yellow Westfield, and third overall was David Fuggle, with his Caterham Superlight. (The cones lying down in these pictures haven't been knocked over; they're there to indicate the route).
Simon Harris, another previous winner, took his Mk 1 Golf GTi into fourth overall and a class win, just ahead of Carl Streatfield's fifth placed Lotus Elise.
Class wins also went to Steve Watson, with his rare fibreglass - bodied 1293 Mini saloon, and Michael Grubb, with his 2 litre Clio Sport 182.
Stuart Pettit finished a close second place in the Historic class, in suitably sideways style, with his recently completed Mk1 Escort.
Ollie Moore came third in Class E, on his first event with his Golf GT TDi. and Richard Withers took third among the Historics, with his MGB GT V8.
